Breas VIVO 55 Ventilator: A Walkaround

The Breas VIVO 55 ventilator is licensed for life-support (invasive ventilation) as well as non-invasive ventilation (bi-level and fixed pressure ventilation).

On the front of the ventilator:

  • The display screen
  • Start/ stop treatment button
  • Alarm silence/ audio pause button
  • Menu navigation buttons: Mode, Setup, Alarm, Monitor, and Other
  • Navigation buttons

On the right side of the ventilator:

  • On/ off switch
  • Mains power input
  • Patient circuit air outlet
  • Oxygen entrainment port
  • Proximal pressure line for an active valve patient circuit
  • FiO2 monitoring sensor input
  • End-tidal CO2 sensor input
  • Pulse oximeter probe input
  • Remote start/stop input

On the left side of the ventilator:

  • Air filter and cooling fan
  • Red inlet for remote alarm unit
  • USB input for live-viewing patient data and download summary information
  • Memory card slot to download summary information

On the back of the ventilator:

  • Internal battery
  • Cooling fans

To clean the exterior of the device, use a mild detergent solution to wipe down the outer casing.
