Finding a vaccine for COVID-19

Many organisations are working to develop vaccines against SARS-CoV-2. There are a number of strategies to find a vaccine, including:

  • Identifying vaccines that were developed for previous coronavirus outbreaks which can be assessed for their effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2.
  • Develop vaccines using the genome sequence for SARS-CoV-2.
  • Develop vaccines using samples taken from individuals who have been infected with SARS-CoV-2.
